Ganglions are firm masses under the skin that are filled with synovial (joint) fluid , they are often related to an arthritic process, or a previous injury to the area.
Common locations include dorsal wrist, volar wrist, palm of hand and fingers. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice. Recovery time varies, but most patients can resume work in around 1-2 weeks.
