More aggressive tumors than the BCC or SCC. Management often involve surgery to excise a wide margin of tissue around the melanoma with or without treatment of the draining lymph gland groups or other surgical/adjuvant treatment.
If caught early then management is less complicated with better long term results and survival rates, hence the importance of early detection.
