Vascular Malformation can affect parts of the face, nose and eyelids.
This particular case was reconstructed using a ‘ Pre-fabricated flap’ using a vessel from the temple region (superficial temporal artery) which was transposed to the subcutaneous tissues of the cheek, under which a tissue expander was placed, after a few weeks of expansion, enough tissues were available to excise the vascular malformation & reconstructed with expanded cheek skin that is superior in quality to skin grafts.
