Ectropion : is usually done to the lower eyelids to correct lower eyelid mal-positioning and to improve function & aesthetics, in some cases flaps from upper lid with or without skin grafts are needed -if simple tightening of the lids will not suffice- the operation can take around 2 hrs depending on complexity, often done under a light general anaesthetic as a day procedure.
Recovery takes about 2-3 weeks, however if skin grafts are used then more time is needed before wounds completely heal.
